Alice Caddow – Dowager’s Hump
Alice is a gentlewoman farmer and a very diligent MELTer. She started with me in an Intro MELT Workshop (where everyone starts the MELT treatment) when I first started teaching MELT about two and a half years ago. She took to it immediately; doing the soft ball hand and foot treatment 10 minutes every day as well as Rebalancing her “Auto Pilot” (autonomic nervous system) on the special Soft MELT Roller. She quickly relieved her chronic low back pain and then decided to increase her knowledge of MELT by coming to regular classes starting with the Beginning class, and moving forward through the Intermediate and Advanced Map Sequences. She also attended the Anti-Aging Workshop – featuring the 50 sec facelift. Alice added the facelift sequence to her daily practice and started receiving many compliments on her complexion and skin from friends.
About a year ago she asked me if we could do something about her “hump.” So we started working on it with Private Sessions, where we came up with custom “maps” or sequences designed to address the causes of this hyper curvature of the spine. Sue Hitzmann, the creator of MELT has a blog in which she discussed that the major contributing factor to this compensation is a weak core and extreme dehydration of the ribs, among other things. In addition to the custom Sequences in MELT/Length that Alice and I affectionately called “juicing up,” we employed specific MELT/Strength moves that re-patterned her muscle’s neurological mechanism to return to a pattern that created better synchronization and integrity automatically (see MELT/Strength description for more information). We saw immediate as well as long-lasting results. Alice takes the MELT/Strength class and MELTs everyday. We continue to create maps that contribute to her commitment to health and wellbeing. Lately, she has been talking about getting her “turkey neck” to go back in place for a wedding she wants to attend. Go Alice!!!
