MELT Length (Beginning & Intermediate Classes)

Cost: $100 for a series of 5 sessions or $25 drop-in fee

Ten minutes of MELT three times a week is all you need to reduce the effects of accumulated tension and stress caused by daily living. New research has revealed the missing link to pain-free living: a balanced nervous system and healthy connective tissue. These two components work together to provide your body architectural support and optimal mind-body communication. Manual therapist and connective tissue specialist Sue Hitzmann has transformed groundbreaking neurofascial science and hands-on therapies into a one-of-a-kind treatment method called MELT. Using specialized techniques, a soft body roller, and three small balls, MELT rehydrates the connective tissue, rebalances the nervous system, and restores space to compressed joints.

P1090280Rebalance the stabilizing muscles that tend to weaken in every body regardless of activity level. The MELT method combines neuromuscular re-patterning with strengthening techniques to address the weak links that damage joints and inhibit your body’s ability to function properly. We use MELT-specific tools in this class.

 


Tai Chi Class

Cost: $80 monthly/2 classes a week or $15 Drop in
Facilitator: Patrick Kanahele

Tuesdays & Thursdays: 6:30pm – 7:30pm

This class starts June 5, 2018

Chinese exercise system that uses slow, smooth body movements to achieve a state of relaxation of both body and mind, Patrick’s tai chi class incorporates the Yang, Chen, and Hsingi styles. 


Yoga Basics

Cost: $15 Drop in, $12 Kama’aina
Facilitator: Suzy McIntyre

Mondays: 9:00am – 10:15am

This class starts July 16, 2018

Expect an emphasis on the basic principles of alignment with a focus on foundational yoga poses.  Modifications provided based on level of experience.  Great for beginners!

 


Mixed Level Yoga Flow

Cost: $15 Drop in, $12 Kama’aina
Facilitator: Suzy McIntyre

Saturdays: 9:00am – 10:15am

This class starts July 14, 2018

A dynamic class connecting the flow of your breath to the flow of movement.  Suitable for those who have experience with yoga, however modifications are provided based on level of experience.  Excellent class to build strength and stamina.

 


Keiki & Me Yoga

Cost: $15 for Mom & her Flock; $12 for a Mom & One Keiki
Facilitator: Vaiva Winder

Thursdays: 8:30am – 9:30am

This class starts September 13, 2018

How does it work?  You bring as many kids as you have, let them play with the yoga nanny in the same room while you do yoga!

There is no age limit for your keiki – you can bring babies and they just roll or lay on yoga mats (we provide extra yoga mats for babies), or bigger kids who can play with the nanny.  There is a nanny, her name is Migle and she watches the kids and plays with them during each class. There are also some toys and coloring pages available to use.

Classes are 1 hour long, all levels are welcome. I play gentle meditative music throughout the class and invite everyone to chant OM before we start. And no, you don’t have to be flexible to do yoga. In fact, the less flexible you are, the more you need yoga!


Gentle Yoga for 50+

Cost: $15 Drop in, $12 Kama’aina
Facilitator: Dawn Bowden

Tuesdays & Thursdays: 10:30am – 11:45am

This class starts November 1st.

This class is well-suited to those who are looking for a relaxed, gentle-paced workout. The poses are presented with modifications, making the class appealing to anyone with moderate physical, mental or age-related challenges.  Emphasis will be on improving balance; developing conscious breathing; cultivating strength and flexibility; and calming the mind.  Ideal for individuals who are 50+, have MS, Chronic Fatigue or Fibromyalgia, or those transitioning from illness/injury/surgery or a sedentary lifestyle. (Private consultation with the instructor is available if you have questions.)

Restorative/Relaxation Yoga

A slow, soothing and well supported practice focusing on a deep state of relaxation through passive stretching.  Great for everyBODY!
