IYENGAR YOGA with Ray Madigan

Optional potluck to follow workshop 12:00 – 1:15 PM
This class will reinforce the material presented in the Teacher Training Course (TTC) and provide for a more thorough understanding of the subject. Ray has expressed that people interested in the TTC should attend these classes as they are tailor made for the material that they are going over at the Big Island Yoga Center. However, Ray has opened the class to the general public. It is NOT mandatory to be enrolled in TTC training to attend this workshop. Please bring your mat, belt, blankets, two 4″ blocks, and a chair. Ray has said that all TTC trainees should have these props as a minimum for their own practice.
Sutra Class with Ray Madigan

A summary of the basic concepts of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
This ancient text forms the basis of our practice and it’s wisdom provides deep insight into the human condition.
A talk will be given with time for discussion and questions.
Following this will be a soothing inversion.

In Search of Balance brings to light the importance of Agro-ecological practices, featuring many worldwide interviews including with Hamakua farmers Drake and Ginger John (whose family runs Sweet Cane café (Hilo)) and Oahu Dr. Terry Shintani.
